Saks Fifth Avenue hosts ‘Fathers of Cleveland,’ Valerie Mayen of ‘Project Runway’ and Rachel Kacenjar open Ohio City shop and more: Style News

LYNN ISCHAY / THE PLAIN DEALERIt’s a big weekend for local designer Rachel Kacenjar, who will open a pop-up shop in Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood with Valerie Mayen and show her Sweetooth Couture collection in New York City’s Full Figured Fashion Week.

Saks Fifth Avenue in Beachwood will have a charity shopping event for MedWish International from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 15 as part of a “Fathers of Cleveland” event at which several men from the medical community will be honored. Ten percent of sales from Saks’ Men’s Collection will go to MedWish. The store is at Beachwood Place, 26100 Cedar Road. Call 216-292-5500, ext. 202.

A new boutique in Hudson, ar2, will celebrate its grand opening with an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 15. The store, at 16 Clinton St. in the First and Main shopping district, features upscale modern and chic fashions, jewelry and home-decor accessories. Local designers Rachel Kacenjar and Valerie Mayen will have a grand opening for their Yellowcake pop-up shop from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 18 at 1836 West 25th St., in the Ohio City neighborhood. Also on Saturday, Kacenjar, the designer of Sweetooth Couture, will show 12 brightly colored, origami-inspired pieces of her collection as part of Full Figured Fashion Week in New York City.
